Horse Description:

30/6/22 - "Shamus" finished 11th at Canberra last Friday but had plenty of excuses - copped a couple of heavy clods to his face during the run, resulting in abrasions to both eyes which blew up the following morning. Have given him a month off to recuperate. Was travelling really good until he copped the kick back.

23/6/22 - we thought "Shamus's" run at Coonamble over 1600m last Sunday was exceptional but still looking for further so will have a quick backup at Canberra on Friday (24th) in a 2000m Plate - drawn barrier 1 with Chelsea on board. Pulled up well from his Coonamble run and is doing everything good.

17/6/22 - will also go around in the 1600m Maiden Plate at Coonamble on Sunday but is still learning to put it all together - needs to have things go his way or he just turns it up ! Will be ridden by Chelsea from barrier 16.

1/6/22 - we also have "Shamus" entered against Puja at Dubbo on Friday - the 1600m should play right into his hands - plans are to ride him conservatively from barrier 6 - Billy Cray has the ride.

25/5/22 -  finished 8th of 11 at Hawkesbury last Thursday over 1400m but we were happy with that run and will nominate him for a 1600m Maiden at Dubbo in a couple of weeks. Still a bit babyish but improving all the time. Pulled up good from the run.

4/5/22 - not overly disappointed with "Shamus's" 9th at Cowra on Tuesday as it was only an 1100m race and more of a fitness run for him. Had a good blow afterwards and will have a quick back up over 1400m and then get up to 1600m with him.

27/4/22 - great trial at Bathurst on Anzac Day where he was absolutely jog-trotting in the run. Will go around at this local track Bathurst this Sunday in a Maiden Plate over 1100m - distance might not suit but we're rapt in how he's going.

20/4/22 -  absolutely flying in his work and will either have a jump out or a trial once either is available. He's never worked so well.

14/4/22 - pleased us in a jump out on Tuesday where he was only asked to work half pace - going really good and will go straight to the races.

30/3/22 - coming along good - pace working and really "feeling his oats".

17/3/22 - doing great work - getting close to pace work.

3/3/22 - feeling pretty cheeky around the stables and working nice. His coat is back and he looks great.

23/2/22 - getting through lots of work - has a beautiful nature.

17/2/22 - has returned with a beautiful temperament following his gelding op. Going along nice and steady.

9/2/22 -  just come back in from a break - looks lovely and happy within himself.

19/1/22 - spelling but should be back by the end of this week.

30/12/21 - spelling.

1/12/21 - has been rather naughty around the place so the decision was made to geld him. He's pulled up good from the operation but is having a couple of weeks off.

7/10/21 - disappointed in his last start 11th at Dubbo last Friday where he was out of his comfort zone from the time the jockey got on board. Pulled up a bit sore in the shoulders afterwards so giving him a couple of easy days. We still think he's a city class horse so not taking any chances with him.

22/9/21 - really happy with his work and he will be nominated for Dubbo on 1st October. Has turned the corner as far as race knowledge is concerned.

15/9/21 - put in an amazing run to finish 4th of 11 starters at Dubbo last Sunday where he finished off solidly over 1400m. Looking to get him over 1600m next start which may be at Goulburn on Saturday week. He's a lovely horse and we've got a very high opinion of him.

9/9/21 - has been working really good and will head to Dubbo on Sunday 12th September for a 1400m Maiden Hcp. Will be up against "Bella" and will be ridden by Chelsea from barrier 5. Just needs a little bit of luck in his races.
